Pur Minerals Foundation + Benefit They’re Real Push-Up Liner

I recently signed up to start getting the Ipsy glam bag, and started following Ipsy on all of its social media accounts.  Which is how I came across a gem of a deal– Pur Minerals’ Color Correcting Primer (org. $31), 4-in-1 Pressed Mineral Makeup (org. $27), and chisel brush (org. $23) for only $20 + free shipping!  Of course I ordered it!  This deal sold out super quick, so I was glad I saw it when I did!

I’ve been a Pur Minerals fan since 1L year of law school.  Their foundation is in my top 3 of all-time favorite foundations.  My chisel brush, which I’ve had since I was 1st introduced to their brand, was really beginning to show it’s age, so I was very happy to score this replacement!

I couldn’t wait to start using everything, so I thought I’d throw together a simple look that will take you from work to dinner with friends–no reapplication of makeup needed!

This primer is a new product for me.  I usually use Smashbox primer, which is more gel-like.  This primer is more like a lotion, and the instructions say to let it dry before applying foundation.  You don’t need to use a lot of product–I would recommend using less than a dime-size worth.  My concealer and foundation went on pretty smooth over-top of it.

For the rest of my look, I used my makeup staples (details here and here).  I did add in my newest eyeliner–Benefit’s They’re Real Push-Up Liner.  While this product is out of my normal price range ($24), I received it as a sample with my recent Sephora order.  It’s truly awesome, and great for cat-eyes (I’m in the processing of practicing my cat-eye, so don’t judge).  I like how easy it is to use, how defined the line is, and that you don’t have to stretch you eyelid to apply it.  Oh, and it’s basically foolproof.  If you have trouble keeping a steady hand when applying you eyeliner, then this product’s for you!

For this look, I used primer, foundation, concealer, blush, eye primer, 1 eyeshadow, eyeliner,  eyebrow pencil, and mascara.  Sorry–I forgot to picture my lipstick [MAC’s Girl about Town].

And ta-da–all done!  I really like how flawless this foundation makes my skin look!  The trick is to “buff” the foundation into your skin with the chisel brush.  The coverage is very buildable, and covers imperfections nicely.

If you missed out on this deal, but would like to try out Pur Minerals, head over to Ulta’s website!  The Pur Minerals primers and foundation are currently buy 1, get 1 FREE (mix and match)!  Don’t forget to use Ebates, which will give you an additional 4% back on your online Ulta purchase!

Nice to meet you!

Your skin looks great! Have you ever tried BareMinerals? I've been using it for a while, and just wondering how you thought it compared.

Thanks, Jill! It's definitely the makeup that transforms my skin–I have minor acne and some redness around my nose, and this covers all that wonderfully!

Thanks, Caitlin! I have tried Bare Minerals, and I like Pur Minerals better. On me, it provides better coverage and a smoother finish. You should hop on the Ulta deal and try this out:)

Makeup can be SOOO expensive nowadays. I really like value deals like this, especially on great products. Pur Minerals is especially great if you have oily or combination skin (which is why I use it). Thanks for stopping by, Elizabeth:)
