This month, we’re having a Maxed Out Maxi party!!!
It seems like maxis have been everywhere this past year, and while the midi is gaining traction, I don’t see the maxi leaving anytime soon.  Maxi skirts/dresses are very comfortable and versatile. . .you can dress them up or dress them down.  Take this black maxi dress for example.  It’s very basic, and a perfect a “blank canvas”to dress up or down.  I’ve chosen to add pops of color with my scarf and bag (no, I didn’t have to sell my first born for either of them, but it was close.haha).
I chose a black maxi because I have big hips.  For us hippy girls, maxis can sometimes be unflattering because of how they lay.  I suggest trying a maxi dress in a solid color, and adding a scarf or statement necklace that draws the eye to your upper body.   I also found that a maxi dress works better for me than a maxi skirt.  If you’re looking for a perfect maxi skirt, look for one with a foldover waistband that doesn’t have a skinny piece of elastic in it.
Sometimes I prefer to wrap my scarves to look like an infinity scarf.  You can tie the ends together or you can just pop the ends up in the middle of the scarf, which is what I did here.  When I do this, I like to layer a long necklace with the scarf.
Maxi: Old Navy
Scarf: Lilly for Target, sold out (option*/option/in love with this option)

I’m traveling to Vegas later this month, and this would be great to wear on the plane.  It could also just as easily be a go-to for a day out with friends.
Be sure to stop by my co-hosts’ blogs, as well as those linking up, and check out how they styled their maxis!!!
