Ipsy May Glam Bag + $120 Target Giftcard GIVEAWAY

OK, I seriously love the glam bags as much as I love the contents!!!  I find that they often end up storing more than just makeup and are in constant rotation in my purse and my workbag.    Even if I completely hated everything in my bag (which hasn’t happened yet), I would still have the cute little pouch as a consolation prize.  The only consolation prize I ever got with Birchbox was a cardboard box.haha  Anyways, here’s what was in my Ipsy Glam Bag this month:

1. ALTERNA HAIRCARE Caviar CC Cream

I haven’t tried this yet, but I really can’t wait to.  I’m excited to see how this does with my hair and I’ll update this post as soon as I do try it.  Right now, I just don’t have time for some bad hair days if it doesn’t work out (because I only wash my hair every 3-4 days.  Usually 4).

2. URBAN DECAY 24/7 Glide on Lip Pencil + [bonus] Revolution High-Color Lipgloss
Lipgloss shades: Failbait (pinkish color) and Bittersweet (purplish color)

One of the reasons I was excited to switch to Ipsy was because Urban Decay products make the rounds in their bags, and I love the brand.  This lip pencil was no different.  It’s like a primer for your lips.  It both conditions and provides staying power.  If you have a matte lip product that is drying our your lips, or a bold lip color that you want to stick around for a while, then I suggest trying out the lip pencil.  And the lipgloss was great too!  Lip products are one of 3 makeup products that I don’t care to shell out a little money for, so I’ll probably end up purchasing one of these.  Both colors are soooo pretty on, and the purple isn’t as dark as it looks in the packaging! That said, the colors are buildable, so the dark purple shade is achievable!

3. BELLAPIERRE COSMETICS Waterprood Mineral Gel Eyeliner Pencil
Shade: Ebony

If you’ve been around the blog for a while, then you know how much I love gel pencil eyeliners! They’re my absolute favorite for color payoff + ease of application.  This eyeliner is no different, but it’s definitely more expensive than I like to pay at $14.99.
4. PETER LAMAS Detoxifying Citrus C Facial Cleanser
I try to wash my face twice per day.  I really like the citrus smell of this cleanser, and will probably use it in the mornings.  It lathers well, which I also like.  Otherwise, I really need to use it longer to see about the “detoxifying” claim.

5.  PIXI BY PETRA Beauty Bronzer
Shade: Summertime

Before contouring became big, I always discounted the value of a good bronzer.  Now that I contour, I love to try out different bronzers and highlighters.  This product is a great shade for fair-skin girls, and it lasted for most of the day.*
*Note: By the end of the day, I was too tired to check out my face in the mirror.  It was a llloooonnggg day.
For those of you who are on the fence about subscribing to Ipsy over Birchbox, you can read a little bit about why I chose to switch here.  I think Ipsy is better if you love makeup, while Birchbox is better if you like a mix of products (hair, beauty, etc.).
