Wardrobe Re-Wear : Transitioning Shorts to Fall

Is anyone else holding on to summer style as long as they can???  Don’t get me wrong, I’m just as excited for fall as anyone else, but I know it’s going to be awhile before my legs see the light of day when the weather gets cold.  On our recent vacation, a couple of the nights were a little on the cool side, so I was excited to break out some of my new long-sleeved tops.  Here’s two ways you can transition your shorts into fall fashion.  The pair I’m wearing are the 3″ oxford short from J. Crew and they’re currently on sale for only $14.50!!!

OUTFIT 1 : Date Night Style

I picked this shirt up at the recent Maurices clearance sale (along with another gazillion things) for less than $8.  It has a perforated look, so I knew it would be breathable.  I popped it over a plain white tank and rolled the sleeves up a little. To jazz up my look for date night, I added my taupe statement necklace–it’s seriously the best piece to take casual tee style to deliberate style.

Top: Maurices (similar–on sale!)

OUTFIT 2 : Travel Style

While I was at the beach, the Lilly Pulitzer After Party Sale was going on.  I really wanted the popover I’m wearing below, but it sold out way quick only (and I’m a super quick draw on online sales).  Anyways, the Lilly store in Charleston, Palm Avenue, just so happened to have it in my size!!!!  Yay!  This popover is so comfortable for traveling, especially if you’re traveling with someone who likes to blast the air conditioner, but it will also be perfect for nights by the bonfire, football games, or fall festivals! To bring out the shades of pink in the popover, I added my favorite tassel earrings.  I finished the outfit off by popping on some bangles and slipping into my Lilly Pulitzer McKim Sandals.

Now since I was at the beach, I was still wearing summery shes. For the 1st outfit, you could pair it with taupe ankle booties, and for the 2nd outfit, you could pair it with some hot pink flats.
