Buffalo Plaid Vest and Ankle Boots

The necklace in this post was sent to me by Lucky Peanut Jewelry.  All opinions are my own.

Fall has arrived, and brought with it all the plaid goodness that you could’ve hoped for! I’ve been impatiently waiting for temperatures to cool down enough for me to start wearing my fall items.  Two items that I was especially chomping at the bit to wear were my buffalo plaid/red check vest and ankle boots.
When it comes to buffalo plaid, I’ll take one of everything, please.  Seriously, I cannot get enough of this print.  When I saw this vest at Old Navy, I bided my time until it went an extra 40% off and then snatched it up.  Becky from BYBMG and I are like the buffalo plaid police. . .if we see something in buffalo plaid, we immediately alert each other.  I picked up some Jamberry nails in buffalo plaid from her (she’s a consultant) and can’t wait to wear them!!!
Now, when it comes to ankle boots, I was hesitant at first.  I put off getting a pair last year, but finally took the plunge this year. Target has some wonderful, affordable options. I chose this pair because taupe goes with everything, and I really liked the silver hardware to dress up the shoe.  Next to leopard, taupe is my favorite neutral color:) If you’d like to get in on the ankle boots trend, Target currently has 25% off shoes in store if you use the Cartwheel app!
I tossed both my vest and my boots on with this tie-waist dress from Target.  This is a recent purchase from when they had their Labor Day sale, but I cannot find it online for the life of me.  I think it’s a pretty popular item, so if you want one and see it, grab it. This dress will be a great transitional piece going into winter since it will pair well with tights too!

And I love this close-up of my drusy necklace from Lucky Peanut Jewelry–do you notice the tiny Kentucky charm that’s affixed to it?  I’ve worn this necklace almost every day since I received it in the mail.  It has a 20″ chain, so it’s great to pair with anything v-neck or to layer with a longer necklace for added depth.  Katie has a great Etsy shop, so be sure to check it out!!!
Happy fall, y’all!!!  And don’t forget that our How I Style It linkup for October featuring FALL COLORS is next Wednesday, October 7.
What fall staples are you breaking out now?  Is anyone else addicted to buffalo plaid?

Nice to meet you!
