How I Style It : Christmas Chic

This post contains affiliate links.  Also, this shirt was given to me, but all opinions are my own.

Welcome to December’s installment of our “How I Style It” link-up!  This is a monthly linkup where we all get together to show you how we style our favorite fashion trends, and invite you to join us in showing off your passion for fashion as well! You can meet the hosts down below:)
Today we’re sharing our Christmas Chic style.  So put on your jingle bells and hitch up Rudolph to the sled, then grab the button and use the hashtag #ChristmasChicStyle to join in on the fun!
When it comes to holiday style, I like to be festive.  That means incorporating the colors of the holiday into my outfits, maybe a fun graphic tee. . .you get the picture!  And Christmas is my favorite holiday of all, so I tend to go all out.

This is the type of outfit I’d wear to a casual Christmas party or on Christmas Eve (I always wear a fun graphic tee on Christmas Eve!).  To dress up the graphic tee, I paired it with this J. Crew rock salt plaid flannel.  This pattern was very popular the past 2 years.  I’m lucky I got my hands on it last winter.
To up the Christmasy feel, I pulled on some bright green pants and my plaid clutch.  I added my new bracelet from Purple Peridot’s recent flash sale and my Kate Spade glitter watch for some bling and my favorite necklace from Ali Rose because it’s perfect for the holidays.  Then I finished it all off with some gold flats because when it comes to Christmas Chic, you can’t have enough silver and gold!

And how great is this graphic tee from Emilee Grey Designs?! The tees are printed by Kentucky Brewed Tees, so they’re of great quality and super soft.  Emilee is a local designer, and she handlettered the design for these tees.  I love her work, so be sure to check out her shop!  This tee would be the perfect gift for a friend (or yourself)!

Tidbit: these pictures were shot with my new Canon Rebel T5 using a 50mm lens.  It was my Black Friday gift to myself:)  I am in love with the camera using this lens, and it’s great for blurring out the background in your shots.  That said, I think there’s some pros and cons when compared with my Samsung Galaxy NX1000, which is a compact/mirrorless camera with interchangeable lens.  The biggest one that stands out to me is that my NX1000 has wireless capabilities, and I can use my phone as a viewfinder/snapper.

If you’re looking for some holiday makeup ideas, be sure to check out this week’s tutorial for an easy bronze smokey eye featuring Younique products!
