My rainy day style always has a few rules: 1. No white pants (you’re asking for stains). 2. No flip flops or sandals without backs. That just flips mud and water onto your pants. 3. Ankle length pants or shorter, to avoid wet pants. 4. No socks because ew, wet socks.
Here, I’ve paired my new ankle-length skinny khakis that I nabbed in-store at the Gap Factory for less than $11 (not as cheap online) with some of my favorite rainy day shoes–these Coach loafers. Sometimes, rain boots just don’t match your outfit, so I like these shoes for a dressier look without having to worry about soaking my feet. Since my shoes are bright, I tossed on this Lilly Pulitzer Elsa top that I scored at Clothes Mentor for only $35 ($158 retail!) and some fun accessories.
And every rainy day needs a cute umbrella. Chauncey got me this Kate Spade one for my birthday last year, and I’ve really been wanting to shoot a blog post with it ever since. I guess the rain gave me a rain check.haha
