Eyelet Tunic and Hunter Boots

These Hunter Boots are my most recent thrift find.  When I posted them on H54F and my Instagram a couple of weeks ago, several of you all wanted to see how I’d style them. Well, friends, I try my best to please:)  I scored both the top and shorts during the recent 40% off Merona sale at Target.  Don’t you just love when an outfit comes together on the cheap?

My recent outfit posts have all included the latest spring trends.  This one is no different, as eyelet fabric is big for spring and summer this year. I love how refreshing it is. It’s also nostalgic, as it makes me think of when I was little and would wear the turned-down socks with eyelet lace edging. If you’re an 80’s baby, I know you wore them too!  This top is very versatile as it’s actually tunic length, so you have lots of different styling options. Here, I just did a front tuck–the back actually hangs down to almost the bottom of my shorts.

As for these Hunter Boots, I’m loving them!  So many of you all expressed that you love Hunter boots, but not the price. . .same here.  Mine are thrifted.  I purchased them at Clothes Mentor Lexington for less than half the retail price.  If you’re looking to do the same, follow my local Clothes Mentor on Instagram–they post their best items on Instagram and they ship, but items go fast.  I’m also linking some similar boots below for affordable prices.

And since Mother’s Day is this week, I thought I’d share a sweet outtake with Kane.  We were on a local walking trail and he was running around looking for dinosaurs. Speaking of Mother’s Day, if you still need gift ideas, or need to make gift suggestions (no shame in my game–already emailed my wishlist to Chauncey), then check out my post here with affordable Mother’s Day gift ideas!

Can we talk about Saturday morning for just a second?  I called on Friday to make an appointment at the salon I go to in Lexington for in-between trims (I go to my stylist in eastern Kentucky for my color).  I told the receptionist the first and last name of the stylist I wanted, and verified the last name as there were two stylists there with the same first name.  I was so looking forward to some pampering on Saturday morning.  Well, I arrived at the salon to find that my stylist had actually left around the first of the year and they had booked me with the other stylist of the same name. Um, no. I walked out without taking the appointment.  I’m very disappointed with the dishonesty of the person who booked me appointment.  Good news, however–I had my stylist’s cell number and I now have an appointment with her on Thursday evening:)

Nice to meet you!
