Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Mini Review

I hope that every had a wonderful Mother’s Day!  I took the weekend off from blogging to celebrate with my family and friends. Sometimes it’s nice to unplug and enjoy:) That said, I’m excited to share this review with you!

I have been hoarding my Sephora Beauty Insider rewards points for forever.  Nothing ever really caught my eye until I received an email about the new Tarte Rainforest of the Sea rewards box for 500 points.  Sold! I headed in store to pick mine up because I couldn’t wait to try all of the new Tarte products.

The box came with sample sizes of the following products from the Tarte Rainforest of the Sea line: Deep Dive Cleansing Gel, Drench Lip Splash Lipstick, Marine Boosting Mist, Water Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 15, and Lights, Camera, Lashes Mascara.  I really appreciate the wide array of products, and found a couple of new favorites!

Here’s a breakdown of what I thought:

Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Deep Dive Cleansing Gel–this gel was a soft and gentle cleanser that smells wonderful!  A little bit goes a long way, and you can get quite a few uses out of this size.

Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Drench Lip Splash Lipstick in Beach Bum (a dark nude)–this lipstick is delightful.  It glides on smooth and feels great on your lips. I just wish they would’ve included a more spring/summer color instead of this shade, which is more fall/winter.

Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Marine Boosting Mist–this mist may be my favorite item out of the bunch!  The mist makes you feel refreshed and has multiple uses. You can use it as a primer, setting spray, or refreshing mist. I like how controlled the spray nozzle is, and 3-4 sprays covers my face. I’ve been using this for the last couple of weeks.

Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Water Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 15–I was so excited to try this product out, but was really disappointed at the sample size. The lightest shade worked well with my skintone, but I only got two wears out of the sample. I wish they would have included a bigger sample size of just 1 shade.

Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes Mascara–this is my all-time favorite beauty counter mascara. It goes on well and makes your lashes look amazing. This sample size will last you quite a while. I almost prefer the sample size, actually, because I feel like the bigger tube dries out quickly.

Overall, I was really pleased with how I spent my points. While this reward is no longer available online, check the in-store availability. If you can’t get your hands on it or don’t have the necessary points, don’t dispare. You can pick up similar kits with some of the products here ($10 for 3 products) and here ($22 for 6 products).

Have you tried any of these products? What do you think? Was it worth blowing my 500 points on in your opinion???
