It’s June, which means wedding season has officially begun! Do you ever find yourself puzzled by what to wear to a wedding? Well, for this month’s How I Style it blog hop, we’re all sharing wedding guest looks! Be sure to hit up the links below!
I broke out one of my favorite dresses from J. Crew Factory. You should NEVER wear white to a wedding, unless you’re going to a wedding where the bride requests everyone wear white. DO NOT BREAK THIS RULE. This dress is what I would describe as a heavy cream linen color, and the black dots make it distinctly not bridal. It’s formal enough without being too formal. And the length is perfect for attending a summer wedding! I recommend anything from mini to midi when it comes to skirt length for wedding guest attire, but keep a mind to your venue. This style of dress will work for almost any type of wedding you have to attend in the summer.
I’m rocking most of the same accessories from yesterday’s post, because what can I say–they’re versatile! The Kendra Scott Teal Magnesite pieces play well with this dress. I did add some of my favorite bangles in neutral tones. And my Urban Outfitters sunglasses had to come out to play because they’re such a great match with the dress. If you’re going to a wedding, I think you can go two routes with jewelry–glitzy or fun. I rarely opt for understated. That said, try not to go for a bridesmaid feel with the jewelry or the dress, k?
When it comes to shoes for weddings, please, do yourself a favor and wear something you can walk in! These shoes have a good base and nice heel height. Wedges are also a great option. Whatever shoe you choose, make sure you’re not committing yourself to a night of pain.
