Brights with White

Since it’s Thursday, I’m throwing it back to last month’s vacation at the beach again. These pictures were taken in downtown Charleston right before we ate at a little tavern called The Griffon. Afterwards, we went on a historical walking tour with Bulldog Tours. Since we were going to be doing lots of walking in hot, humid weather, I wanted something that was cool. Also, my hair rarely sees anything heat-related on vacation other than the sun and a blowdryer, hence the wild beach hair:) You can read more about downtown Charleston, South Carolina in this post from a previous trip.

Nothing makes bright colors pop more than pairing them with white. The top I’m wearing is full of bold, neon colors, so the white shorts really set off the shirt. While I’m a huge fan of pattern mixing, when you’re wearing a super busy, bright print, it’s best to pair it with a solid color. It’s been forever since I’ve worn a tube top, but I really liked this one!

For accessories, I chose my iridescent/holographic necklace, earrings, and purse. If you’re not a big fan of packing a lot on vacation (Chauncey wishes I wasn’t), these three pieces could carry you through your entire trip! All three act as neutrals and pair well with almost everything. My sandals, while gold, still went well because they picked up the gold hardware on my bag. I always try to carry a crossbody with me when I travel.
