This outfit was snapped on our anniversary trip to Charleston, South Carolina last month. It was our last night in town. We were just running around, fitting in the last minute things we wanted to do before we left. In addition to some shopping on Kings Street, we stopped by Rainbow Row to gaze at the Easter egg-colored Georgian row houses. Coincidentally, I matched the houses to perfection.

I don’t think there’s any outfit more perfect for a southern beach vacation than some Lilly Pulitzer mixed with some J. Crew. It’s not secret that I love bright colors, and the two pair perfectly together. This was my very first Elsa top from Lilly that I snagged during the After Party Sale last time around. The sale happens again next month, so then would be a great time to get your own Elsa top! I really like that while this outfit looks color-blocked, the shorts actually pick up a hue in the top.
Accessory-wise, I like to keep it simple when I’m at the beach because it’s so humid. The iridescent necklace, earrings, and bracelet go with just about everything. If you’re going on a trip and packing light, pack similar jewelry that you can wear with everything. And I’ve gotten so much wear out of these sandals, that I’m pretty sure I’m going to need another pair soon.
After we were done, we ran to Charleston Beer Exchange, which is right by Rainbow Row. Then we headed to James Island to our favorite little BBQ place, Smokey Oak Taproom, for dinner.
