Each month, I team up with some of my blogging buddies for the How I Style It post–we all take one style idea and each put together an outfit based on it. For this month’s theme, we’ve decided to break the fashion rules and showcase looks with white AFTER Labor Day.
Top: Target (similar) // Jeans: Target (similar, similar) // Backpack: Sole Society (more options) Necklace: Charming Charlie’s (similar) // Flats: Tory Burch // Cuff: Loren Hope via Rocksbox // Bangle: Salem Swank (similar) // Watch: Coach // Sunglasses: Target // Lip Color: LipSense in Plum + Glossy gloss
Let’s be honest–I’ve always been a little bit of a rule breaker when it comes to fashion. One fashion rule I don’t follow is no white after Labor Day. Seriously. . .why should I put away all of my whites just because a page flipped on the calendar? One great way to flout that rule going into fall is to sport some white jeans! I think white jeans are unexpected in the cooler months, so they’re a fun piece to wear. Mix your white jeans with some fall tones, like my navy and emerald, for a striking look.
Also, this outfit is actually a Wardrobe Re-Wear of a nautical look that I did for another How I Style It post a couple of months ago! I took the same shirt, swapped the shorts for pants, and changed out the accessories to get an all new outfit that can carry me into fall. I’ve actually been dying to wear these Tory Burch Minnie ballet flats!!! I snagged them for half-off earlier in the summer. They are sooo comfortable, and emerald green is going to be a big color for fall and winter wear. I totally bought the necklace to wear with them–they’re a perfect match!
You can check out the backpack in more detail on yesterday’s post.
Be sure to check out everyone else’s rule-breaking looks!!!
