The Return of the Backpack Purse

When I was in elementary school, say 3rd grade, a backpack purse was the must-have accessory.  I would fill mine full of Lisa Frank pens, glitter makeup, lip balm, and little toys. Well, late-80s babies, rejoice, because the backpack purse is back and it makes the perfect accessory for fall!

Dress: Old Navy // Backpack: Sole Society (more options) // Shoes: NY & Company (try these instead for fall) // Marble Necklace: Charming Charlies (similar) // Multi-colored Necklace: Perry Street via Rocksbox–get 1st month FREE with code BRIGHTONABUDGETXOXO // Cuff: Loren Hope via Rocksbox // Watch: Coach // Sunglasses: Target // Lip Color: LipSense Plum

I picked up this backpack during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. The cognac color and tassel details are on trend for fall/winter.  I especially like the size–it’s roomy but not too big. It’s still available on the Sole Society website for $45, and I’ve included more options, most of which are under $50!

My dress is a recent Old Navy find. Both the colors and pattern are so cute for a fall outfit, and it has tassels too.  I recommend ordering online so that you can choose the tall size (which is perfect for lengthening their dresses).  Also, be cautious about drying it. I’d already worn this dress once before and washed and dried it.  It did seem to shrink up a little in the wash.

Let’s talk about my lip color–I’ll be doing a more in-depth post on it later this month, but I’m wearing it here so I wanted to go ahead and mention it. My friend Becky is a consultant for LipSense. Once you put it on, LipSense stays on 4-18 hours depending on your body’s chemistry.  It doesn’t budge, so it makes it perfect for just about everyone who is sick of leaving a lipstick trail behind! I’m wearing LipSense in Plum with the Glossy gloss. Check out her page and see what all the fuss is about.

And as for shoes, I totally had some cute block heels to wear with it, but walked out the door and left them laying right there. We got downtown to shoot these photos, and all I had were the sandals I walked out in.  So I’ve left a link to a better shoe option:)

Nice to meet you!
