Leather Leggings for Everyday Wear

Leather leggings are one of this fall’s hottest trends. They’re so chic and take any outfit to the next level. And while most people would probably consider leather leggings for going out, you can totally make them work for everyday wear!

These leather leggings are faux leather and less than $30 at Nordstrom.  The BP brand at Nordstrom is great quality, and a great option for trying out new trends without breaking the bank.  While the website stated that these leggings run a little big, I went ahead and ordered my normal size.  If you’re going to wear leather leggings for a daytime look, you want a pair that are fitted but not hide-tight.
To make leather leggings work for everyday wear, try to pair them with a longer but structured top in a soft material.  This peplum top from Target is the perfect pairing for leather leggings and it comes in three colors (I also bought it in black). The contrast between the fabric of the top and the leather softens the overall effect. I also like a top that is just a little loose, especially if you plan on wearing this combo to work.
This look can be paired with either flat or heels.  Here, I paired it with a fun pair of leopard print heels to add in a little pattern mixing.  I also wore this exact outfit with a pair of pattern Kate Spade Keds. I kept the accessories simple–you don’t want anything too wild for everyday wear, as your accessories would then be competing with the leather leggings.  I layered a black Kendra Scott necklace from Rocksbox with my new Kate Spade initial necklace that Chauncey got me for my birthday.

Have you hopped on the leather leggings bandwagon yet? How are you wearing them? I think they look really cute with plaid shirts as well for everyday wear!
