Holiday Travel Outfit

When I travel, I like to be comfortable, whether I’m in a car or on a plane. And planes are trickier to dress for than cars.  Seriously.  They’re usually cold, but you can’t wear anything too bulky because then it’s hard to maneuver. This outfit was the perfect outfit for traveling back from Vegas a few weeks ago.

Duster cardigan: Old Navy (tons of similar options) // Tunic: Nordstrom (similar
Leggings: Nordstrom–comes in lots of colors! // Flats: Tory Burch (save option) // Handbag: Louis Vuitton via Clothes Mentor Lexington // Scarf: Old Navy (similar) // Necklaces: Kendra Scott via Rocksbox (1st month FREE with code TIFBFF) and Kate Spade
For flights and roadtrips, I always like layering.  That way, it’s easier to get comfortable.  I started out with a very thin cotton tunic from BP and my favorite leggings.  I added a long duster cardigan, and topped it all off with a scarf.  While I usually love infinity scarves, I chose a regular scarf that I could either let hang and use as more of a blanket or wrap around my neck.
I keep jewelry to a minimum.  I layered a couple of dainty necklaces that wouldn’t aggravate me, and I left off a bracelet all-together.  Heavier jewelry just gets in the way.  A watch is a must, though, because sometimes your hands are too full to grab your phone. And I always toss a hairband around my wrist. I like to put my hair up in a bun so it doesn’t get all bent out of shape/sweaty against the seat.
Finally, I wear comfortable shoes that are easy to slip off while going through security. I need shoes that I can move quickly in for a gate change, or easily drive in if I’m roadtripping.
What’s your go-to traveling outfit???
