Confession: I used to hate leggings as pants.  I don’t know what was wrong with me!haha Now not only do I love leggings as pants, but I’m also totally on board with the athleisure trend.  The athleisure trend is sporty and comfortable, but also looks put-together and chic.

These lace-up leggings from Persnickety Jane are so comfortable, but the criss-cross lace-up detail is an interesting twist. I also like the cropped length for spring and summer.  If black leggings are a wardrobe staple for you, like they are for me,  add these into your line-up to mix things up a little!
I paired them with my new Derby tee from Persnickety Jane.  The Derby illustration is too cute and represents what Derby is all about. The material of this tee is super soft, and the sleeves are a nice change from my usual tees. Together, the outfit is perfect for breezy spring days. I did size up in this tee so that I could tie the hem.
Persnickety Jane is a local Kentucky boutique based in Somerset, Kentucky, and they have the cutest items! If you’re looking for clothes that are a little different than everything else you’re seeing, be sure to check them out on their Instagram. For those of you who aren’t local, Persnickety Jane ships–just browse their Instagram and give them a call about what catches your eye.
Since the athleisure trend is so strong right now, I paired my outfit with my new slip-on sneakers from Bearpaw.  Bearpaw is one of my fav brands for boots, and they’ve recently started expanding their line to include athletic shoes and sandals. I’ve been on the search for the perfect pair of sneakers for a while now, and I adore this pair!  I love that I can just slide them on and go. The simple black and white color scheme is classic. And the material of these shoes are just OMG. My feet tend to get too hot in most tennis shoes, but with these, the material is super thin and breathable. The best part is that the soles are memory foam, making it easy to wear these all day! You can save 15% on US orders from with code BA17IU4JST.
