How to Be Productive When You’re Always on the Go

As a working mom and young professional, to say I’m always on to go may be an understatement. I have a full-time job as an in-house attorney, I’m mom to a 4-year-old, and I run my blog by myself.  It seems like there’s always somewhere to go and something to be done.  This can be stressful, but I’ve found that by being productive on the go, I can make the most of my time and still get everything accomplished.

How to Be Productive When You’re Always on the Go

The trick to being productive when you’re always on the go is to turn your cell phone into a mobile command center.  If you see me, I always have my phone in my hand. Always.  Staying connected with my cell phone is how I make sure I stay on top of everything I have going on. I can instantly respond to emails and messages.  I can catch up on the news.  I can take conference calls and video chats. I can create and publish content. I recently switched to the Samsung Galaxy S8+ in the new orchid gray color (not quite gray, not quite purple), and it makes the perfect mobile command center!

Being Productive on the Go: Have a Phone with a Large Screen

When Samsung first brought out their larger phones (I’ve been a fan since the Note 2!), I jumped on board.  Have a large screen to work with is very important for being able to have a mobile command center.  The Galaxy S8+ has the work’d first Infinity Screen.  The screen isn’t just large–it stretches from edge to edge, giving you the most amount of screen in the least amount of space.  It’s actually Samsung’s biggest screen yet, but the phone is still a manageable size.

One of my favorite features of the  Galaxy S8+ is how fast it charges.  I don’t have to wait around forever for it to charge when I have places to go and things to do. This phone actually has fast wireless charging too, so you don’t have to be tethered to a cord for it to charge (charger sold separately).  I don’t know about you, but there’s nothing more annoying than trying to charge your phone on a short cord when you’re moving around.

I’m also very rough on phones, and I have a preschooler, so I have to make sure I have a durable phone.  The Galaxy S8+ is perfect for the busy mom and young professional because it’s water resistance.  The worst thing is being out of commission while waiting for a replacement phone. For those of you who have a habit of dunking your phones in water (like me), you no longer have to worry about a quick water baptism killing your phone.  The Galaxy S8+ actually has an IP68 water resistant rating.

How many have ever been slowed down while using your phone because of low storage?! Now I don’t have to worry as much about deleting important items, like pictures and documents, off my phone to make room for more. This phone also has the most powerful processor, making it super quick in general!

How to Use Your Cell Phone as a Mobile Command Center

I wanted to share just a few of the ways you can use your Samsung Galaxy S8+ as a mobile command center to stay productive on the go.

1. Organizing your schedule with the calendar app.  You can import your calendar from other programs as well, like Gmail, and even create shared calendars and/or appointments to keep everyone on the same page.
2. Draft and edit documents. I like to use the Microsoft Word app to do this.  The large screen makes it easier to work with complex documents.
3. Social media posting. You can use an app to schedule all of your social media posts.
4. Virtual meetings.  Be sure to download your favorite video chat app to take meetings on the go.

Additionally, I love Samsung phones because of how great the cameras are, and the Galaxy S8+ is no different!  I’m always taking pictures of Kane on the go.  I love that I can take excellent quality pictures, edit them on my phone with an app like Facetune, and be able to store an incredible amount of pictures right at my fingertips.
