Yellow Floral Top + Black Lace Pencil Skirt

Now, y’all know there’s nothing I love better than a good sale.  I’m excited to share today’s outfit with you because 1) it’s super cute and 2) it’s only $30 for both the top and skirt!

Top: KMB Bowtique // Skirt: KMB Bowtique // Heels: Express // Handbag: Tory Burch Outlet (similar) // Earrings: Charming Charlie // Watch: c/o Daniel Wellington–save 15% w/ promo code BRIGHTONABUDGET //  Link bracelet: J. Crew Factory c/o The Outlet Shoppes of the Bluegrass // Cuff bracelet: J.Crew Factory  // Sunnies: Quay Australia

This yellow floral top immediately caught my eye!  The bold pattern and bright color are such a pretty combination. It’s lightweight and cut a little flowly. I’m wearing a medium but could have size down to a small for a more fitted look.

And I had to pair the top with this skirt as soon as I saw it.  A black lace pencil skirt is a great closet staple piece. It’s classy and will pair well with a dressy top or a plain tee shirt. This one has a wide stretchy waistband–I’m wearing a large.  I also like how the pattern of the skirt mixes with the pattern of the top.  It’s understated but still makes a statement.

I went with classic black shoes and handbag, but added my pink pom-pom earrings for a pop of color.  Overall, this outfit would work well for an office-to-date-night day.  If you work in a more conservative office, pop on a cardigan or suit jacket to cover your shoulders. You can also substitute black ballet flats for the heels.

Both my top and skirt are from KMB Bowtique.  KMB Bowtique is an extension of the Kentucky Mountain Bride shop in Prestonsburg, KY (where I actually purchased my senior prom gown). They are having an awesome sale right now, with 50% off of their summer items!  That makes both my top and skirt $15 each.  If you’re not local, you can call to order and they will ship– 606.886.1151.

A black pencil skirt is a wardrobe essential and the lace gives it a little something extra. I love how you gave it a pop with the earrings as well.
