We’ve been on our babymoon at Wild Dunes Resort in Charleston, SC this week, but we’re leaving today. I’ll be sharing more about our babymoon next week, but I did want to share this outfit from yesterday with you. It can be tricky trying to figure out what to wear to the beach in the fall, but I’m sharing a no-fail outfit formula for fall beach trips!
Popover sweater // Maternity jeans (non-maternity option, both under $30) // Espadrilles (similar) // Earrings c/o // Sunglasses
What to Wear on a Beach Vacation/Babymoon in the Fall: Lilly Pulitzer Popover
While the Isle of Palms area of Charleston was warm the first couple of days we were here, it was distinctly cooler yesterday. I was very thankful I’d packed this Lilly Pulitzer popover in the Multi Dive In pattern. It was one of the items I picked up during the last After Party Sale in August. I love the structure of these popovers, especially the zip-up neck, and own several. Plus, it allows me to still be bright and colorful at the beach, even when it’s cold.
What to Wear on a Beach Vacation/Babymoon in the Fall: White Skinny Jeans
White jeans are also a must-have for a fall beach trip. They always look chic, and it’s now OK to wear white jeans after Labor Day:) White jeans are a great alternative to your typical shorts. I wore this pair of stay-white jeans from Old Navy for two of the days we were here. Mine are the maternity version with full belly band (insert praise hand emojis) but they’re also available in non-maternity as well. These run kind of big, and the size I have on is actually a size too big, but they work.
Have you heard about the stay-white jeans yet? They’re meant to repel stains! Liquid beads up on them and you just wipe the liquid off! I tried them out by purposefully spilling a few drops of pop on them, and it wipe right off–no stains! This makes them the perfect pants for travel as you can probably wear them multiple days.
What to Wear on a Beach Vacation/Babymoon in the Fall: Espadrilles
If you’re like me, your usual shoes of choice at the beach are flip-flops and sandals. For this trip, though, I packed a couple of pairs of espadrilles after checking the wear. Espadrilles are still “beachy,” but they’re much warmer than an open-toe shoe. Look for a brightly colored pair to take on your fall beach trip.
Also, I want to mention my sunglasses. My favorite Quay Paradiso sunglasses broke, and they’re no longer available in black (if you see a pair, LET ME KNOW!). So I decided to order the Quay It’s My Way sunglasses for this trip. Well, Kane and I went to Target that night and they had a pair of dupes for those same sunglasses for $14.99! The only differences I see are that the Target pair is shiny black instead of black matte, and the Target pair has a gradient lens. If you’re looking for a pair of sunnies, you should totally get the Target pair!
Have you been to the beach when it’s colder? What do you pack?
