THIRD TRIMESTER BUMPDATE
Y’all, we’re in the home stretch! Bright baby watch has begun. Baby news will break on Instagram and Facebook first (I will probably go live to introduce her), so be sure you’re following along.
Weeks along: 37 weeks
Craving: Peanut butter pancakes. But let’s be honest–I’m eating lots of chocolate too!
Name: We have a name! Momma had to get some monogramming done, so we made our final decision on Valentine’s Day:) Did you see the peek at her hospital outfit and coming home outfit on my Instagram stories this weekend that had it on there?
Weight: I’m tipping the scale at the top of the recommended weight gain. Oh well.lol
Ultrasound: I actually just had a quick ultrasound on Friday to check the baby’s position. Still breech, so please say a prayer for us that she flips. I will be going in for a version this week. When we say her at 31 weeks in 4D, she was still hiding her little face but weight 3 lbs, 12 oz. She was on track then to be an 8 lb baby is I go to 40 weeks.
Feeling: Better than I was on Friday! I was so exhausted and sick Friday night and Saturday morning. Now I feel much better other than the typical aches and pains.
Nursery: The nursery is just about done! I’m doing final cleaning and hanging items on the wall tonight!
Maternity clothes: I wear maternity pants with the full panel and leggings exclusively now. As for shirts, I’m still wearing a mix of maternity and non-maternity. Heck, I even fit into a size L button-up from Old Navy last week!
Nesting: So. Much. Nesting. I’m going mad trying to get all of the last minute things done.
Baby shower: We had a baby shower back home and a baby shower here in Lex in late January. Our friends and family truly blessed us with our thoughtfulness. And we’re having two more little showers this week.
Kane’s thoughts: Kane is really going to be the best big brother. He wants to hold the baby in both arms while standing up when she gets here (because he thinks that’s what big boys do). He also wanted to make sure that she’s not big enough to play with his toys yet. And he told me that when she gets here, I have to scratch his back and daddy will have to scratch the baby’s.
Yesterday, we took him to the Newport Aquarium for one last “just us” day. He told Chauncey I was walking so slow because the baby was so big. The other day, told me I’d be good at blowing up balloons because my belly was big.haha
We talked this weekend how she’ll be here sometime in the next 3 weeks. Kane wanted to know the exact number of bedtimes, but I told him it’s a surprise at this point. He’s so precious–Chauncey said the other day we couldn’t have asked for a better kid, and it’s right.
Physical changes: This belly keeps growing by the day and I have a double-chin (insert eye roll). I’m still using Bio Oil to keep the stretch marks at bay. Fingers crossed it continues to work these last few weeks.
Y’all, I can’t believe we’re so close to meeting our baby girl! With Kane, I was so ready for my pregnancy to be over with, but I’ve really taken the time to savor it this time around. I know I’m going to miss her kicks and rolls. And while I’m excited to welcome her, I also know that our little family will be forever changed. Going from a family of three to a family of four is a big deal. I’m super emotional about it.
