Y’all, we keep getting tastes of spring in Kentucky, alternated with tastes of snow. I have to check the weather every morning to see what season to dress for. Let’s be honest, though–what I really want is to just dress for spring. Kane and I stopped by Gordman’s weekend before last, and luckily, I found some affordable spring transitional pieces that I can wear now, and wear later.
Top: c/o Gordmans // Jeans: Articles of Society via Destination Maternity (non-maternity version) // Heels: G by Guess c/o Gordmans // Handbag; Kate Spade // Necklace: Kate Spade // Earrings: Kendra Scott // Sunglasses: Betsey Johnson c/o Gordmans (similar, similar)
First, I picked out this lightweight sweater with the velvet lace-up detailing on the shoulders. This is such a cute take on the lace-up trend. It’s super soft to the touch, and very breathable. I could see myself wearing this with cutoff shorts when it gets warmer. For right now, though, it works great with my distressed jeans. My Gordmans had some Express jeans for $6! It made me sad that I was pregnant and couldn’t wear them.
I picked out these perforated booties from G by Guess too. The silhouette is so in style right now! The dove gray color is a pretty neutral, and a switch from the black and cognac I’ve been wearing this winter. The peep-toe says I’m ready for spring, but there’s still enough shoe there to get you through this last month of winter.
By the way, the trend for sunglasses this spring is ROUND. I hate spending a ton of money on sunglasses, so I was excited to pick up this Betsey Johnson pair. The shape is perfect, and the lighter tortoise color was a nice change.
The great thing about Gordmans is how affordable it is! I was able to stock up on quite a few transitional pieces for spring without breaking the bank. My sweater was just $14.99, compared to $24.99 elsewhere. My shoes were $34.99, but they were marked down and I was able to use a coupon for them (click “Sign Up” in the upper right-hand corner of the Gordmans homepage to signup for mobile coupons), bringing the end price to $20.78. And the sunglasses were right at $10. I really racked up. Kane even got in on the action. Gordmans also has a toy section, and I let him pick out a new Lego Spiderman set:)
If you have a Gordmans in your town, be sure to stop by! Every Gordmans gets in different merchandise. Mine had a ton of good deals, and a must-see-to-believe clearance section. There were so many fun finds–I wish I could’ve brought everything home with me!
