This was a hard post to shoot–my first postpartum outfit for the blog. You know by now that I like to keep it real around here. It was the first day I wore jeans since I gave birth. Yes, they’re maternity jeans with an inset panel. I don’t feel quite up to wearing something that buttons yet. The tank you see peeking through underneath my top in some of these photos is a nursing tank, because that’s life right now.
Top: Universal Thread // Maternity Jeans: Isabel Maternity (similar non-maternity) // Espadrilles: Universal Thread // Necklace: c/o Sugarfix at Target
I’m loving all the pastel shades of pinks and purples this spring, so this $13 tee from the new Universal Thread line at Target caught my eye. The fit is slightly oversized (allowing me to say I fit into my pre-pregnancy size.haha). The material is soft and easy to wear. It looks great paired with jeans, but I could also see pairing this with black dress pants and a blazer to dress it up.
As I mentioned above, my step-hem jeans are maternity jeans. After I had Kane, I would’ve died before wearing a pair of maternity jeans postpartum. This time around, I’m giving myself a little more grace. The inset panels for stretch make these the perfect transitional jeans for that “fourth trimester” body. I’ve linked some very similar step-hem jeans that are non-maternity above.
Layered necklaces continue to trend for spring. This necklace from Sugarfix takes the guesswork out of layering with a 3-in-1 look. I finished my outfit with these blush espadrilles, which are also from the Universal Thread line. Both items are under $20!
Overall, I’m really digging the Universal Thread line and can’t wait to try out some of their jeans when I’m ready.
Such a classic outfit, love it!
