After a super hectic day on Saturday, Chauncey and I got to have a little date night.  We went to a surprise birthday party for one of our friends at West Main Crafting Co. If you live in Lex and haven’t tried it out yet, what are you waiting for?! Anyways, I put together this outfit from the new pieces I’ve picked up for spring/my postpartum body. And you know what? I felt pretty!

Linen blazer: A New Day via Target // Tank: Universal Thread // Jeans: Old Navy // Earrings: Sugarfix via Target (similar) // Handbag: Who What Wear via Target // Necklace: wedding gift from Chauncey // Loafers: Gap

I think sometimes society makes you feel like you shouldn’t take pride/ownership in things, like looking pretty or doing something well. Society can make us feel like we need to downplay these things– “Oh this old thing?” or “Thanks, but I don’t feel like it.” or “No, XYZ does this so much better.”  Well, society can go fly a kite, because I rocked this outfit. Having confidence four weeks postpartum can be an elusive thing to achieve, am I right? (Chauncey would tell you of course I am.haha)

Remember me talking last week about lilac, blush, and lavender being big for spring? Here I put another spin on that color palette. Kane actually picked out this linen blazer for me.  What can I say–he has good taste!  It will go with so much.  I chose to color-block it with a lavender tank and hot pink loafers.

Boyfriend jeans are making a comeback this season. I tossed this pair on to up the cool factor of my outfit for date night. The sales change from day-to-day, but it seems that they’re consistently running under $25.  If you don’t already have a pair in your closet, these are a great option!

To finish my outfit, I added this little gingham bag.  The gingham pattern and gold details make this little bag carry a big punch.  Metal top handles are “in” right now, and you can remove the strap to take this bag from day to evening.

I hope that everyone’s week is off to a good start1
