We ended up leaving for a last-minute trip to Folly Beach, South Carolina on Sunday.  Folly Beach is right outside of Charleston, SC, and we usually go down 1-2 times per year. Chauncey was skeptical about taking the baby to the beach, but we made the trip any ways because I really wanted to go:)

DAY 1: Sunday

On the way down to the beach, we stopped at the Twisted Crepe in Asheville, NC for brunch.  Chauncey and I discovered it on our babymoon, so it was fun to stop with the entire fam this time. We arrived at the beach around 3:30 p.m. We had lunch at Woody’s Pizza and then headed to the beach while waiting for our room to be ready.  Karoline got her toes dipped in the ocean for the very first time. Then we carried everything up to our room and headed out to Bohemian Bull for dinner. Bohemian Bull is my “place” on Folly. We make sure to go every time we’re in town. It was a relaxing evening out on their patio!

Day 2: Monday

We heading out to the beach that morning after I knocked out some work. Kane was obsessed with going out in the water and about drove Chauncey crazy. For lunch, we popped over to Black Magic Cafe. Kane tried syrup for the very first time on his biscuit and loved it! (I hate it.). For dinner, we made an early reservation at Poogan’s Porch. I was excited to get a seat on the back patio because it was a beautiful evening. When we left, an older couple complimented our family–they thought we were lovely and well-behaved (haha–we may never get that compliment again). And we finished the night with dessert at Jeni’s Ice Cream for my Savannah Buttermint fix.

Day 3: Tuesday

The day started at the beach. Each morning, we’d stop by the coffee shop at the hotel and grab something yummy for breakfast to each once we reach our beach chairs. For lunch, we walked to Lost Dog Cafe. If you’re ever lucky enough to be in Folly, make sure to stop there for a cinnamon roll! That evening, I did a quick bit of shopping in Kings Street to pick up some new Lilly for everyone but Chauncey. It’s okay though–he did some bourbon hunting beforehand. We grabbed dessert before dinner (cool mom alert.haha) at Jeni’s again, although I decided to go with their limited edition Popcorn! Peanuts! flavor. We then headed back to Folly to try a new place out for dinner–Famulari’s Pizzeria and Brew Pub.  The food was amazing and we’d definitely go back! We sat outside and ate under the twinkle lights once it got dark.

Day 4: Wednesday

This was our last full day at the beach, so we made the most of it! For lunch, we dined on the beach at Blu, the hotel’s restaurant. It was a hilarious experience, because birds kept stealing our french fries–one even swooped down and stole one of Kane’s as he was eating. Another one pooped on top of his cup lid. He was NOT a fan.haha And Karoline dipped her butt in the water and sand–she was NOT a fan of that.

We stayed out on the beach late and then headed downtown. Of course, we walked along Rainbow Row and shot some blog pics there.  Kane and Chauncey even did some Pokemon hunting and took down a gym. This was followed by one last stop at Jeni’s for my Savannah Buttermint fix, where I met Tiffany of  Life in Law and Coffee blog. She was so sweet! Finally, we hopped back over to the island for dinner at Mondo’s, an Italian restaurant.  Chauncey said it was his favorite meal of the trip!

Day 5: Thursday

Leaving the beach is always bittersweet. Kane and I got up early Thursday morning after I stayed up late packing. He and I stopped by the coffee shop for a brownie and a donut before heading to the beach. All week, he had been talking about wanting to hunt for a shark’s tooth.  Well, first we met a gentleman on the beach who not only told us how to hunt for them, but also gave Kane one! Using his tips, I found an itty bitty one!!! And as we were finishing our walk, another gentleman gave Kane another shark tooth! So we left the beach that morning with THREE, which was three more shark teeth than I expected to leave with.

After finishing lat minute packing details and getting everyone ready, we shot some pics of the kids at the beach. We then said our goodbyes and heading home. It took almost 12 hours to make an 8 hour trip home, but that was with multiple stops to feed the baby, etc.

Overall, it was fun! Traveling with a baby makes things a little difficult, but it was worth it:)
