Wardrobe Re-Wear: Red Scallop Shorts

Welcome to my revamped series, Wardrobe Re-Wear!  At least once a month, I’ll be taking one key outfit item and showing you two ways to wear it in the same week.  To kick off Wardrobe Re-Wear, I’m sharing a more dressy way to style these scallop shorts that from Monday’s more casual post.

Top: J. Crew Factory // Shorts: J. Crew Factory–BOGO Free! // Sandals:Time and Tru // Earrings: c/o Kendra Scott // Necklace: c/o Plunder Design by Krissy Staton // Straw Circle Bag: Free People (splurge optionsimilar under $25)

Now, you may notice that that the only things I switched up were my top, sandals, and shades–everything else is the same! Still, the outfit has a completely different vibe. It’s more dressy and less casual. And this outfit would be awesome for the 4th of July!

I swapped out my v-neck tee for this gingham side-tie top. You can also tie this in a regular bow, as opposed to the one-sided knot I did. Blue and white gingham is such a pretty pattern that really pops against the red shorts.

Now, both the top and the shorts are linen-blend. That means, yes, they do wrinkle easily. I’m trying to just embrace my linen wrinkling and not stress over it. Line is meant to be a lived-in fabric. I think the top wrinkles less with wear than the shorts.

Also, sorry for being a little MIA this week. This post was intended to go up yesterday, but I was struck down with a stomach virus. UGH! Glad that’s over:)

Which outfit was your fav–Monday’s or today’s?

Nice to meet you!
