More Than Your Average: End Childhood Hunger

Today I’m so excited to be teaming up with More Than Your Average and some of my favorite bloggers to raise awareness for an issue that’s near and dear to my heart–combating childhood hunger. I grew up in eastern Kentucky, where many families fall below the poverty level for income. While I was fortunate to come from a family that always had food on the table, I had friends who did not.

Did you know that 1 in 5 Kentucky children do not have access to enough food, especially during the summer months? While many of these children receive free or  reduced lunch during the school year, only 8 of every 100 children receiving free/reduced lunch is connected to a meal during the summer months. God’s Pantry helps combat this by partnering with libraries, churches, apartment complexes, and community centers throughout central and eastern Kentucky to work to see these children fed. No child should EVER go hungry.

So how can you help? You can join us in on our campaign to help combat childhood hunger in the state of Kentucky by purchasing the tee I’m wearing! The tee is from Bella Canvas, which are some of the softest tees I’ve ever owned.  It is unisex sizing, and I’m wearing a medium. It’s just $25, and half of all proceeds raised will be donated to God’s Pantry, ensuring that more children are fed through the state. You can ever use code MTYAENDHUNGER to receive free shipping on your purchase.
