Karoline (and Our Family of Four) at 6 Months

Wow, time flies, especially when you’re a parent! Karoline turned 6 months old on September 1st. I thought it would be fun to give a little 6 month baby update, as well as share photos from Karoline’s 6 month shoot with Amanda Hacker Photography.

Karoline is way smaller than Kane was at this age. I’m still breastfeeding, but Karoline tried baby food for the first time the day she turned 6 months old. We gave her green beans, and Kane got to feed her the first bite. She didn’t know what to think!haha

Overall, Karoline is a very happy baby.  She’s constantly smiling, except for when she’s hungry. . .then she turns into a little monster. No one can make her laugh, though, like Kane. Kane loves his little sister so much.  He does get a little jealous from time to time, but it’s not often. He’s always wanting to hold her and love on her. He also makes up the sweetest songs to sing to her, and always tells her how pretty she is. MELTS. MY. HEART.

Karoline has been sitting up on her own for about a month now. She is so close to crawling–she gets up on all fours and rocks back and forth. I know any day now she’s just going to take off, and it will break my heart.

I’m also pretty sure she said “Mama,” but Chauncey says she didn’t (whatevs, Chauncey). We’re so thankful for this little blessing and how she’s changed our family dynamic.

Adding a second child has made our lives a little bit more hectic but a lot more happier. By now, we’ve fallen into a routine.  We had to adjust that routine some when Kane started Kindergarten. It was a little bit of a struggle. The school schedule seems to be a little bit better for us.

Going forward, now that we have this two-kid thing down(ish), I want to focus on building mine and Chauncey’s relationship more. We’ve not had as much time to focus on each other. Part of having a healthy relationship is recognizing when that is happening, and putting changes into motion.

Also, Karoline’s hoops are actually hung in her nursery (a nursery reveal is coming within the next week!).  These hoops were made by my friend Tina at Bluegrass Burlap Shop. She hand paints each and every hoop, so they’re completely customizable!
