Mixing Brown + Gray for Fall and High Five for Friday Linkup

This post contains gifted items + affiliate links.

TGIF! We’ve made it through the week. . .and I’ve survived not one, BUT TWO, nights of 3 a.m. shopping. Anyways, Kentucky got a taste of fall temps this week (don’t worry–it didn’t last). It has me in the mood for fall clothes.

Top: c/o Daylilly Boutique // Jeans: Old Navy (similar) // Earrings: c/o Daylilly Boutique // Necklace: c/o Dress Up // Boots: Lucky via DSW–on sale for $54.98 w/ code DSWFALL // Clutch: Gigi New York

Growing up, I was always told not to mix brown with black (insert eye roll). Well, that fashion don’t become a do several year ago. I love mixing brown with black now, and that has led to me liking brown mixed with gray.  It’s such a great neutral color mix.

If you want to mix brown with gray, the easiest way to do so is to color block your colors. Here, I’m wearing a gray lace top, but both my shoes and my clutch are brown. It works so well together, and is a little unexpected.

My top and earrings are from a new boutique called Daylilly Boutique. The owners are from my hometown in eastern Kentucky, and they have some super cute and trendy items! I’m really sad their teal popcorn cardigan sold out before I could get my hands on it:( Be sure to check them out.

Isn’t it crazy how all the old fashion rules have gone by the wayside?!! I haven’t combined these two colors yet so thanks for the inspiration!
