Neutral State of Mind

For all that I love bright, bold colors, I love a good neutral outfit too. This fall, I’m really leaning into neutrals with a pop of color. There’s just something so fall about it.

My top is a find from a local Lexington boutique called Peplum. For fall, I’ve been looking for items that are like a basic tee, but elevated. The knot in the middle of this top, along with the funky hemline, makes this top exactly what I was looking for. It’s casual but not. I think it’s a newer arrival, as I can’t find it on their site, but you can call to see if they have any in stock. It’s just $34!

And I’m just going to go ahead and say it–these jeans are EVERYTHING. Everyone should have a pair of dark skinny jeans with NO HOLES in their closet. This pair from Kut from the Kloth is so flattering, especially for those of us with a mummy tummy.

Don’t forget to add your favorite pair of booties. The pair I’m wearing are dupes for a Vince Camuto pair, but they’re under $40.

When wearing a neutral outfit like this, add a pop of color in your accessories before you head out the door. It could be with a bold pair of statement earrings or your bag, but don’t forget it. Burgundy, emerald green, mustard, and teal are great pops of color for fall.
