TGIF, friends! So glad it’s Friday. I kicked off today by booking last minute trip to Orlando in a few weeks with friends. Somehow a trip to the outlet mall escalated to a weekend in Florida, but I’m not mad about it.haha It’s been way too long since my last girls’ trip. Sometimes you just need to get away to recharge.
I can’t believe that we are less than 2 months away from Karoline’s first birthday. There’s so many emotions swirling in my head right. . . I’m working on unpacking everything into a few blog posts to help process. At 10 months old, she loves to eat table food. She fought me for a chicken tender on New Year’s Eve at the Cheesecake Factory. She actually growled at me over it! She’s standing on her own, and took her first step last Sunday before promptly falling down on her butt. She says mama and dada. Also, she likes to crap her hands, wave bye, and dance. I can’t believe how quickly she’s growing up.
Kane is loving Kindergarten. I’m amazed by how much he has matured, and how much he is learning. He is really the best big brother in the world:) And he’s going to be a big cousin soon, too, as my brother and his wife are expecting a baby boy around Kane’s 6th birthday. We’re so excited for the new addition to the family!
My parents unexpectedly rolled into town last weekend, so Chauncey and I took full advantage with a date night. We had dinner at Pies and Pints, followed by hanging out with friends at Bar Ona and Belle’s Cocktail House. And we already have date nights planned for February and March. I am bound and determined that we will have a date night each month this year. I wrote a post about the importance of date night here.
What’s everyone watching on Netflix? We really loved The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, which made Riverdale a natural choice to follow it up. We are a little over halfway through the second season. While it’s definitely a different vein than Sabrina, we’re both enjoying it. I’ve heard a lot of people are really digging You, so maybe that will be up next.
I’m working on 2019 blog content, so if there’s something specific you’d like to see, leave me a comment below or email me at brightonabudget@gmail.com!
