Casual Jeans + Button-Up Outfit to Transition to Spring and High Five for Friday Linkup

Happy Friday! Continuing with my spring-transitions theme this week, I’m sharing an easy look to begin the transition to spring. This jeans and button-up combo is a casual chic go-to look, and straddles the line between seasons. Oh, and you’ll NEVER believe what happened right before I shot this look. . .

shirt–on sale for $10.50 (regular length version) // jeans–on sale for $17.50 // straw basket bag //earrings c/o // moccasins c/o–save 20% off your purchase w/ code TIFFANY20 (US ONLY)

Before we get into the story, let’s cover this outfit first. I put my trendy twist on this classic combo with my shoes and accessories. My tassel hoop earrings pop against the background of this outfit. I’m wearing them in black and white, but they also come in a blue and coral color combo. They’re from the Sugarfix line from Baublebar at Target, and just $12.99! My straw basket bag is new for spring. Straw bags are back again this year, and we’re seeing them in new shapes/takes from last year’s trend. Definitely a spring accessory must-have. But my moccasins are cozy and give a nod to the lingering chilly temps. They work for transitioning to spring because of the light color.

I’ve also been on the hunt for some new denim.  The jeans I’m wearing today are on sale for $17.50! They are high-waisted with just a hint of stretch. Take a close peep at the distressed ankles/hemline. I also really like this more 90s-inspired wash.

OK, so now for the backstory. Right before we left to shoot blog pics, Chauncey turned on the washing machine and walked out the door. I was gathering up my stuff to walk out and couldn’t find my phone. I tried pinging it from my phone and reverse ringing it from my tile–nothing. That’s when I heard a weird thud from the washing machine. . .Chauncey had dropped my phone in the washing machine! It was laying on top of the towels in the hamper and he didn’t notice it when he was putting them in the washer. I grabbed it out and it seemed fine (it’s supposed to be water-resistant for so many feet).

Fast-forward to in-between outfit shoots when my phone screen went black and wouldn’t come on. So I was on Chauncey’s phone with Apple support before and after shooting this outfit. I don’t know if you can see the stress on my face in these pics, but I was very worried. Luckily, I got into the Apple store shortly after this and was able to get a new iPhone, and my messed-up one was backed up.

Now, I’m no stranger to messing up phones, but for the record, this time was NOT my fault.haha I’ve shattered screens, left one on top of my car while driving away (we found it and it was fine!), etc. What’s the worst thing you’ve ever done to a cell phone?
