Life Lately: February 2019 + High Five for Friday Linkup

TGIF! I hope everyone had a fantastic Valentine’s Day. If you didn’t, Valentine’s Day candy is 50% off today so there’s that.

This morning, I had to get up early to finish tying dinosaurs to Kane’s Valentine’s Day cards for his class at school [insert eye roll]. It took me forever to tie them on! Mom’s make the holiday magic happen, but it can be exhausting.lol

Yesterday, had an awesome Valentine’s Day! Chauncey and I went on a date night Monday night, so we had family date night last night. After work, we met at home to open Valentine’s Day gifts. I got Chauncey hot sauces from The Hot Ones show, and a wallet. The kids enjoyed their gifts too. Then we went out to Ted’s Montana Grill at the Summit for a delicious dinner.

PS–we are on track for our commitment to once a month date nights this year! I will try to stay accountable on here. It’s so important to date your spouse.

Karoline is so close to turning one year old! I’m working to wrap up her party details. In just the past couple of weeks, she’s cut three teeth and started taking steps! I miss itty bitty baby Karoline but I’m enjoying this new stage too.

Kane is starting to become more sure of himself as a reader. I got a catalog in the mail from Ulta, and he said something about it being from Ulta. I’m sure he recognized the logo, but when I asked him how he knew it was from there, he sounded out the name just to make sure. He’s addicted to playing Zelda with Chauncey, and his Nintendo Switch is basically attached to his hand.

We are currently planning some home renovations downstairs. The biggest thing we’re looking at doing is replacing our laminate flooring and carpet downstairs with luxury vinyl plank. We’re also planning on switching out light fixtures, redoing the facing and adding a mantel to our fireplace, and finally pulling the trigger on new furniture. We’ve been looking for new furniture for over a year. I hate buying furniture almost as bad as I hate car shopping.  Anyone else feel that way?

Kane is really getting into Star Wars. I’ve never been a fan or wanted to watch the movies, but here we are. Fridays are typically our family movie nights, so we may have to jump right in. I posted on my personal Facebook asking how we should watch the movies, and everyone said that we should watch them in release order versus chronological order. Are you a Star Wars fan? Thoughts?

Anyways, after all this catching up and rambling, I hope you have an awesome weekend!
