For my final Kentucky Derby look with Macy’s, I wanted to do a classic Kentucky Derby look. This white knit sheath dress from Tommy Hilfiger is the epitome of classic. The cut works on a variety of body types, the knit is a great spring weight, and the length is just right. Plus, the gold buttons on the faux pockets are the perfect touch.
I knew immediately that I wanted to pair it with blue-green accents. This aqua Kentucky Derby hat is a fun color in a classic silhouette. It’s an attention-getter without being over-the-top. And this Dooney & Bourke crossbody pairs so well with it! Plus the basket-weave look of the crossbody is so on-trend. Sidenote: my first expensive bag with a Dooney & Bourke bucket bag in almost this same shade that had hearts scribbled on it for my high school graduation back in 2005:) The trick with Derby is finding a bag that will fit everything you need it to while still fitting within bag guidelines, and this one works!
I kept the rest of my look monochromatic white, because it really lets the aqua hat and bag standout. My heeled sandals are comfortable enough to walk around on, as they have great cushioning. If you grab my Kate Spade earrings, make sure to grab these to help support the earrings, and swap out the backs that come with the earrings for some backs with discs on them.
This fresh take on an all-white look is refreshing yet an all-around classic.
