Mother’s Day is THIS WEEKEND. While you’re running out of time to have items shipped for Mother’s Day, there’s always time for last minute shopping at your local stores. Chauncey and the kids popped over to our local Kendra Scott store at the Summit at Fritz Farm last night for some last minute Mother’s Day shopping.
MOST IMPORTANT GIFT-GIVING LESSON FOR KIDS
As a mother, one of the things I’ve worked hard to instill in Kane is the art of being a good gift giver. While I think it’s important to receive gifts well (say thank you, be appreciative, etc.), I think it’s even more important to take joy in gift giving. Chauncey and I both work hard towards this goal, and always encourage Kane to pick out gifts for special occasions, while thinking about what others would like and the joy they’ll feel when they receive a gift that was picked out especially for them. It’s a great way to get kids to focus on other’s feelings and spreading happiness around.
Chauncey chose to take the kids out to Kendra Scott because the store has beautiful jewelry and many, many options. You can even customize a piece yourself at the Color Bar in the back of the store.
Now, for a little takeover from Chauncey:
Yesterday Kane, Karoline, and I took a trip to Kendra Scott. Tiffany has always enjoyed their jewelry and they provide a great shopping experience for a clueless husband. Not only did they have coloring sheets handy for the kids where they can design jewelry, but they also had cookies for a quick snack. Kane even had a chance to make his own creation for Tif. He got to play around with the stones and create some different pieces to choose from. The kids had a great time and we came home with awesome gifts that Tif is sure to love.
The girls at the Kendra Scott store here in Lexington are so welcoming and helpful! I always enjoy stopping in to shop with them myself. In case you’re looking for some cool Mother’s Day gifts, I’m linking my favorite Kendra Scott pieces below. And if you want to see a little behind-the-scenes takeover from Chauncey, head on over to Instagram stories to see their shopping trip.
