J. Crew Factory Try-On Session: Casual Pieces for Summer

On Friday, I stopped by the J. Crew Factory store at the Outlet Shoppes of the Bluegrass in Simpsonville. It had been awhile since I had shopped J. Crew Factory, but I found such good deals on cute pieces for summer that I wanted to share a little J. Crew Factory try-on session with casual pieces for summer with you. Plus, several of these pieces are clearanced online, meaning they’re an additional 50% off right now with code SPARKLE.

wrap dress

First up is this wrap dress. It’s currently $44.99 online, but was cheaper in-store. This comes in 5 other colorways, but I love the yellow, turquoise, and red together. This fits fairly TTS, but the skirt does have a little flare to it, so you may want to size down if you’re in-between sizes and you wear a smaller size top than bottom.

striped t-shirt dress

I got this striped t-shirt dress on Friday, and have already worn it two days. Fits slightly big, so size down if you’re in-between sizes. The length was great on me, even though I’m taller at 5’9.5″. And at $14.95, this dress is a steal! It also comes in a couple of other patterns.

beach bum graphic tee + floral print pencil skirt

I love love love a good graphic tee paired with a pencil skirt. The beach bum graphic tee is $19.50. This pencil skirt is a great option for the office, so I got it in two patterns (see leopard pencil skirt below). It’s a little pricey online at $42.50 but was cheaper in-store. Both are TTS.

beach bum graphic tee + linen pom shorts

Here’s another idea for wearing the beach bum graphic tee–take it more casual with these linen pom shorts. They come in three colors and are just $14.50! Now, the sizing on these runs big. I’m an 8-10 in J. Crew and took a size medium in these.

tiny floral print tiered midi dress

How cute is this little tiny floral print tiered midi dress? It’s $27.50 when you use code SPARKLE. It fits TTS–I took an 8 in it. I let it slip off my shoulder some for this pic, but you do not have to wear it that way.

flutter sleeve faux-wrap top + leopard print pencil skirt

This is a great way to wear leopard print to the office! The flutter sleeve faux-wrap top + leopard print pencil skirt is a super cute workwear look. The skirt is the same as the floral pencil skirt above, just a different pattern. The top will work well with high-waisted jeans as well and is $15 with code SPARKLE. It comes in numberd sizes and fits just slightly small. I went up one size.

chambray faux-wrap dress

Sadly, this chambray faux-wrap dress didn’t end up coming home with me, but it’s a cute little dress for work for $29.50. It fits very TTS. The ruffle wrap and the tie-sleeves elevate what would otherwise be a very basic dress.

sleeveless top w/ pleated trim + pleated midi skirt

This look has all the pleats! Both of the pieces are easy, breezy material. The top fit a little big, so size down for a more fitted look or if you’re in-between sizes. I wasn’t a fan of how the skirt fit my body shape, and I preferred a different size in the top, so neither of these came home with me.

neon tee + smocked waist mini skirt with shimmer dot

I love J. Crew Factory tees, and right now, you can score this one for $9.50! It fits pretty TTS, but you could easily go up one size as well. On the other hand, this smocked waist mini skirt with shimmer dot fits big, so definitely size down. It’s on sale for $18.75 with code SPARKLE.

neon tee + polka dot shorts

Same neon tee, different color. I highly recommend these polka dot shorts. The fabric is a little thicker and feels great. They fit TTS with a 5″ inseam, and are $16.50. They also come in a couple of other patterns (I love the white and green!).

striped tee + drawstring chambray skirt

Ok, these next three outfit are basically 2 ways to wear this drawstring chambray skirt, which is only $17.50! It’s casual perfection when paired with this striped tee, which is $12. This is the best little outfit for Saturday morning errands.

tie-waist button-up shirtdrawstring chambray skirt

Look 2 with this drawstring chambray skirt is paired with a tie-waist button-up shirt. The $24.50 tie-waist button-up shirt makes this an effortless outfit that you can wear for a Friday at the office. Yesterday, I styled this top with some shorts for a 4th of July look that will be coming to the blog later this week.

ruffled hem sweater tank + drawstring chambray skirt

The third look with this drawstring chambray skirt features a great workwear piece–this ruffled hem sweater tank that’s on sale for $20 with code SPARKLE. This sweater tank is so versatile, and really works year-round. Plus, it’s on clearance. I recommend sizing down one size in this top for the fit you see here.

Hope this try-on session helps out with your summer closet shopping!
