Simple Red, White, and Blue 4th of July Outfit

Y’all know I couldn’t let this week go without posting a red, white, and blue look for the 4th of July! I always love dressing patriotic for July 4th. This look is so simple to recreate–all you need is a white top, red bottoms, and blue shoes.

tie-waist top // red scallop shorts–on sale for $14.50 // sandals (dupes here on sale for $30) // earrings c/o // tote (similar)

You don’t have to specifically buy 4th of July themed items to create an awesome 4th of July outfit. By using color blocking, you can pull items from your own closet, or buy things that you will wear more than just for the holiday. This tie-waist top was a recent J. Crew Factory purchase–you can see my haul/try-on session here. It’s a little more put-together than a simple tee.

Then, I added my red scallop shorts and blue shoes. Now, had I went with blue shorts, I would’ve done red shoes and accessories instead. . .you get the picture. My blue gingham earrings pulled the entire look together, and balanced all of the colors. They’re from Wild Wonderful Finery, a local Lexington online shop. They’re very lightweight and easy to wear.

What are you planning to do to celebrate the 4th? If you need more outfit inspo, you can see other 4th of July/red, white, and blue outfits here.
