Do y’all ever see a trend and think, “Nope, not for me?” That was me initially with the poncho trend. But I’m all about layering. So I tried on this poncho at Draper James and immediately hopped on the bandwagon.

HOW TO WEAR THE PONCHO TREND FOR FALL
If you’re wondering how to wear a poncho this fall, the key is to keep the rest of your outfit simple. Ponchos are a chic accessory to begin with. Start with that premises in mind, because you don’t need to add much to make them work.
First, pair your poncho with a simple tank or tee underneath in a complimentary color. I went with a white tee underneath. If you’re going for a casual look, add a nice pair of jeans. I would avoid distressed jeans, as they’re a little too casual. If you’re looking for something a bit more dressy, add a skirt or dress pants.
Sizing wise, ponchos tend to be a little voluminous. I’m wearing the XS/S here. It’s going to look a little big, but you don’t want it to absolutely swallow you.
For jewelry, go with statement earrings or a long necklace. You want something that balances the outfit out. Add some fabulous sunnies, like these from Draper James’ new sunglasses collection, to top off your outfit. I love the plaid print and pearl details on this pair that make them a great addition going into the holiday season!
Speaking of which, you can join me THIS SATURDAY, October 19, at Draper James’ Lexington location at The Summit to celebrate the launch of their new sunglasses collection. The event runs from 11 am – 3 pm (I’ll be there part of the time). Hope to see you there!
