Happy Friday, friends! One of my favorite ways to style closet staples is to pair them with something unexpected. Plaid blazers are definitely a closet staple in the cooler months. They instantly elevate any outfit. But plaid blazers can also fall into the frumpy category, and this is a frump-free zone.

For a fresh take on how to wear a plaid blazer, I paired it with a chambray skirt. Chambray and plaid go well other, but this isn’t just popping a chambray top under a plaid blazer. The chambray skirt is a little unexpected and definitely more playful. It keeps the outfit interesting.
Fall is all about textures and how they play together, so I layered a silky cami underneath the blazer. It’s a good contrast to the material of the blazer and skirt, and the black colors pulls everything together. Burgundy would another good color to layer underneath.
My neckline needed a little something, so I wore my current favorite Kendra Scott necklace. Then I added this long necklace from Katz Meow Creations. It’s a cool design that’s different, and I’ll be wearing it a lot over the winter months. In fact, I’m wearing it with a thermal top as I type this.
Anyways, I hope you have a wonderful weekend! The High Five for Friday Linkup is taking a week off due to technical difficulties, but we’ll be back and at it next week.
