As you’ve probably figured out from my recent posts, I’m dipping my toes back into beauty blogging. I had gotten away from it because it seemed like nothing was ever up to my standards. . .I didn’t have a great spot to shoot beauty content, I wasn’t good at capturing the look, etc. Well, I’ve put those worries aside and hopped right back in. Beauty content will not be overtaking fashion and lifestyle content around here, but I hope these beauty posts will compliment the other posts. Because at the end of the day, I want to inspire you to create a life you love all the way around. Anyways, I shot this whole look for the blog and you will see the outfit later this week. I wanted a navy/purple eye makeup look for the holidays to compliment my plaid top.
Eyes: Smashbox Cosmic Celebrations 3 Palette Shooting Star Set Nova Eye Shadow Palette // Foundation: Tarte Foundcealer in Light-Medium Neutral // Primer: e.l.f. Poreless Putty Primer // Bronzer + Blush: Smashbox Cosmic Celebrations 3 Palette Shooting Star Set cheek palette // Highlighter: Physician’s Formula Rose All Day Petal Glow in Freshly Picked c/o // Mascara: IT Cosmetics Lash Blow Out Mascara + IT Cosmetics Tightlight Mascara–comes as a duo for $32 // Eyeliner: Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Liner Micro Tip // Brows: Benefit Precisely My Brow Pencil in 4.5 // Lips: Lipsense in Creamer
To create this look, make sure you’ve primed your eyes! This goes for ANY look, but you want to do an especially good look if your shadow contains sparkle, foil, shimmer, etc. Next, use a fluffy blending brush to apply the nude pink shade Rom Comet in your crease and above (leave some space between your brow and where the shadow ends). Next, using your finger, press Stormy, the iridescent blue purple, all over your lid and up into your crease. Finish by using the black with purple shimmer shade, Space Ex, in the outer corner of your eye.
For a bold holiday eye makeup look like this, you will want to use black eyeliner with a heavy hand on your top lid, as well as in a lighter hand just below your bottom lash line. Make sure your mascara is poppin’–I used a coat of the IT Cosmetics Tightline mascara topped with two coats of IT Cosmetics Lash Blow Out mascara. I’m in love with this combo, and you can get it together in a set for $32.
Go for a darker blush so the rest of your face doesn’t get lost in this bold holiday eye makeup look. Complete the look with a soft neutral beige lip and you’re good to go!
This is the second look I’ve created with the Smashbox Cosmic Celebrations 3 Palette Shooting Star Set. It’s also a great value–just $39 for palettes! You can see the first look, along with color swatches of the entire palette, here.
And let’s chat about my hair for just a moment. I work with Haircut Katie at Bak 4 More Studio here in Lexington, KY. I just sent Katie one of these pictures and said, “Look at my hair!” This is 4-day hair (still haven’t washed it 2 days later.haha) that was curled the day before. I am blown away at how much my hair has improved since Katie and I started working to address various issues one at a time. I’m working on a full hair, so this is all I’ll say for now, but y’all, these pictures speak for themselves when it comes to my hair:)
