Happy Friday! Today officially kicks off my birthday month since my birthday is this Monday. . .making it my birthday weekend. Chauncey says I can’t celebrate all the days, but he’s wrong.haha Anyways, my mom got me the new Smashbox Cosmic Celebrations palette set, so I wanted to share a purple eye and lip look for fall.
Smashbox Cosmic Celebrations 3-Palette Shooting Star set // foundation in light-medium neutral // eyeliner // / lippie in Peacock Pearl // brow in 4.5 // primer–$8
First, let me say that the Smashbox Cosmic Celebrations 3-Palette Shooting Star set is an amazing value! It contains three palettes, two of which are Cover Shot eyeshadow palettes. The Cover Shot palettes typically retail for $29 EACH, but you get all three palettes for $39! This makes an awesome Christmas gift, and you could even split it up for stocking stuffers. The set contains a cheek palette with highlighter, bronzer, and blush, a purple eyeshadow palette called Nova, and a nude eyeshadow palette called Minimalist.
I want to mention that I started my look by using this $8 primer I mentioned in this post. I am obsessed with this primer. It works well and feels great on my face, plus my makeup goes on smoothly.
The cheek palette is great for an everyday look. The highlighter is not OTT and is subdued enough to wear to the office. I used all 3 shades for today’s look.
For my eyes, I started with Rom Comet, a neutral pink matter, in my crease and blended it up as a transition shade. Next, I went into my crease and outside corner of my eye with Orchid, which is the deep purple matte. For my lid, I used Half Moon Bae, the red purple metallic, topped with High Heelium, a puple silver metallic. High Heelium works best if you use your finger and pat it on. For this look, I recommend using black eyeliner on both your top and bottom lash lines.
When you use purple eyeshadow, I recommend either a beige-y nude for your lips, or a matching purple lippie. Here, I opted for a purple lippie, using Peacock Pearl Lipsense. You want to avoid pinks, reds, and corals with this look.
Overall, I’m super happy with the Smashbox Cosmic Celebrations 3-Palette Shooting Star set! The colors are phenomenal for fall and beyond. The color pigment is great, as you can tell from the swatches. And you can always mix and match the shades from the two palettes for more eye looks.
I’ll be wearing some variation of this purple makeup look for fall everyday between now and Thanksgiving. Do you like wearing purple shades in the fall?
