this postI used to love shopping at American Eagle when I was younger. In fact, my freshman year of undergrad, someone stole my American Eagle flares out of the laundry room and I’m pretty sure I cried. While I stopped shopping there for awhile, I picked back up shopping there in the last couple of years and have really enjoyed the American Eagle/Aerie brands. The top from was part of my most recent order, as is this cozy oversized striped sweater you need in your closet, STAT!

This oversized striped sweater caught my eye thanks to the color way. I really like how it mixes light and dark neutrals with a pop of pink and light yellow. Plus, if you read this post, you know I’m digging brown and black color combos this season. This sweater is intended to be oversized, so it’s true-to-size in that aspect. If you’re looking for something more fitted, size down. It’s soft and cozy–everyone wanted to touch it when I wore it, and I got tons of compliments on it.
Since cognac falls on the bottom strip of the sweater, I opted for black leggings to really make the sweater stand out while still being cohesive. My boots perfectly match the cream color in the sweater. They act as an anchor for the outfit, pulling everything together. Black boots would blend-in, where-as you’d want to opt for booties if you went for cognac.
Now, this is a fantastic Thanksgiving outfit as you have lots of room to stretch in it, but it will also carry you into the new year.
