It’s no secret that I love all things glitter. So when it comes to pulling together a New Year’s Eve look, I’m not holding anything back.haha When I pulled this look together, I asked Chauncey how he thought it looked before we left the house to shoot it. He said, “You look like New Year’s Eve.” Mission accomplished. This glittery New Year’s Eve outfit with a sequin skirt is exactly what you need to start the new year off right.

This entire outfit was built around this sequin skirt. Most sequin skirts I run across are mini skirts, so I appreciated the length of this one. Don’t worry–you still get a sexy vibe from the slit, but it doesn’t show anything that you shouldn’t be showing. The sequins flip for a really pretty color mix. That said, don’t buy this skirt and try to make the sequins go all one color, because it’s going to get messed up. I think it fits slightly big, but then again, I have a smaller waist.
For a top, I wanted another statement-making piece. I found this glittery velour bodysuit on the clearance rack at Altar’d State a few weeks ago and grabbed it. Full disclosure: the last time I wore a body suit was probably with some stirrup pants in elementary school. It’s no longer available online, but I linked some similar bodysuits for you. I like that the metallic gold thread picks up well with the gold sequin skirt.
I matched my shoes to my top, then went with sparkly accessories. Oh, and glitter eyeshadow is a MUST! Mine is from Pixi Beauty and comes in an $18 kit with a matte lippie. I do a regular eye makeup look with a darker crease color as a base, then do the liquid glitter eyeshadow on my lid and into my crease. You can do a red lip, but after all the red of December, I’m ready for pretty pinks, purples, and nudes.
