2019 Year in Review + High Five for Friday Linkup Party

At the end of each year, I always like to take time to reflect on the year and everything that happened. You’re never the same person at the end of the year that you were in the beginning.

2019 Year in Review: TRAVEL

The older I get, the more important travel becomes to me. I went on girls trips, a family vacation, and a couples anniversary trip.

February: Girls’ trip to Orlando, Florida. We visited both Disney World and Universal Studios. This was a very last minute trip that happened because someone suggested we take a trip trip instead of a trip to the outlet mall.haha

March/April: Family vacation to Folly Beach/Charleston, SC. This was the second trip to Folly with both kids and they loved it!

June: Chauncey and I took a trip to the Bahamas for our 10 year anniversary!

August: I attended the Blog Societies Conference right outside Atlanta, Georgia.

2019 Year in Review: FAMILY + MARRIAGE

While 2018 was a year of adjustment with the addition of Karoline, 2019 was a year of getting into a grove as a family of four. We celebrated Karoline’s first birthday in March and Kane’s sixth birthday in June. Mine and Chauncey’s 10 year anniversary was June 13. Part of being married for that long is continually working on our marriage, so we decided in January to make sure to do one date night a month for the entire year. I’m happy to say that we accomplished that goal!

2019 Year in Review: PROFESSIONAL LIFE

As y’all know, I’m an attorney “in real life.” 2019 made seven years that I’ve been practicing (all of that time spent in-house). In September, my boss left, so I’m now the sole in-house attorney for the companies I represent.

The blog continued to grow in 2019. I did slow down posts in the last quarter of the year as I dealt with the transition in my full-time job, but I will be ramping back up to my 3-4 weekly posts as we kick off the new year. Sometimes it’s important to take a step back while you catch you breath–there’s nothing wrong with that:) I appreciate each and everyone of you so much for supporting Bright on a Budget.

I hope 2020 is off to a great start for you! Don’t let anything that happened–or didn’t happen–in 2019 hold you back. While it’s good to look back, it’s important to not be held back.
