How to Wear a Headband: Two Ways to Style a Thick Headband

Headbands are the most on-trend accessory to rock for spring, but let’s be honest–wearing a headband can be awkward. I’m personally loving the headband trend, so I wanted to share two ways to wear a headband. This works for headbands of all shapes and sizes. I’m sharing my tips below, and you can checkout the IGTV I’ll be posting later this evening with a full tutorial!

HOW TO WEAR A HEADBAND: Look 1–Hair Swept Back/Off of Face

Look 1 is how to wear a headband with your hair swept off of your face. This does not mean that you skin your hair straight back. You want to keep some volume for this look, especially with thicker headbands.  Slide the headband back horizontally right above your ears, then lift it up as you move it back to sit on your crown. This prevents the hair from squishing. You can pull out a couple of tendrils right in front of your ears to soften the look.

HOW TO WEAR A HEADBAND: Look 2–Soft + Romantic

Look 2 is how to wear a headband without pulling your hair back. This gives the look a soft, romantic feel. You simply arrange your hair like normal, then place the headband straight down right at your crown. This hides your ears and covers up a little bit more of the headband. I also think this is the easiest way to wear a headband if you’re not used to wearing a headband.
