Top Jean Trend for Spring: Mom Jeans

Y’all, winter may seem endless, but spring is right around the corner. I’ve been adding some new spring pieces to my wardrobe the past several weeks in anticipation of warmer weather. While I can’t wear everything yet, two spring trends I can work into my wardrobe now are mom jeans and espadrilles.

The #1 jean trend for spring is mom jeans. This trend first showed up last year but is ramping up for spring/summer 2020. Think high-waisted with a more relaxed, slightly cropped leg. Mom jeans are a more casual style of jean that you will want to have in your closet. Abercrombie has two fits in the mom jeans–regular and curve love. The pair I’m wearing is the curve love fit (got them on clearance), but I also bought two pairs of the regular fit as well. Here are some mom jeans in a range of price points:

You can also wear some long-sleeve pastels that put you in the spring mood. Think mint, light blue, blush, and lavender. Add in some fun jewelry. Metal pieces with no stones are having a moment right now, so I like to mix some of those pieces in with my stone pieces.

Since mom jeans hit above the ankle, I suggest pairing them with espadrilles for spring. You could also do sandals, heels, or tennis shoes. These espadrille loafers are new at Target and are totally cute for spring and summer. They’re closed-toe, meaning they’re great to wear now.

Will you be adding mom jeans to your spring wardrobe?
