Hey, friends. It’s been a couple of weeks, but I’m back. During the past week, I’ve really thought about this space and how I want it to look going forward. Sometimes you have to step back to get clarity. Over the next couple of weeks, you’ll be seeing some changes with how things look, including new content (don’t worry, I’m still keeping fashion as part of the mix). I’ll be stepping up my beauty and lifestyle content. I’ll also be stepping back up the number of times I’m posting each week, with a goal to hit 4 posts per week again by July. If there’s certain content you want to see, shoot me an email (brightonabudget@gmail.com) or send me a DM on Instagram.
As part of this, I am working on a mission statement for my brand. To be clear, Bright on a Budget supports racial justice. If you’re local, my friend Sarah has put together a wonderful guide to support racial justice in Kentucky–you can check it out here.

It’s already hot hot in Kentucky, so I’m looking for breezy pieces. I adore this oversized ruffle top I found online at Red Dress Boutique. It keeps selling out, but is currently in stock in white. It’s super oversized–I’m wearing a medium and could have taken a small with room to spare. You could easily pair this with a pencil skirt for the office.
This top looks so clean with white jean shorts. These white cutoff jean shorts are my all-time faves. Run to get these–they’ve been sold out for awhile. I actually love these so much that I also bought the black and light blue washes. Size up one size.
I kept accessories and shoes simple. Both my bag and shoes are very affordable and work well with a variety of outfits. These is definitely the summer to keep things simple.
