Many time with blogging, all y’all see are the pretty pics and cute outfits. You don’t get the behind-the-scenes, with all the prep work and scouting locations. Often, you take 100-200 pictures and hope that 8-12 turn out decent. . .that you caught whatever wasn’t laying right, that your eyes weren’t closed, etc. Yesterday, I shot two looks, and this was the second one. I shot the first one, then drove to this location. As I was changing in my car (yes, that’s a thing with fashion bloggers), I heard a SPLAT on top of my vehicle. Now, as it was still sunny out, I thought I was hearing things. Then comes another SPLAT. I hurriedly jerked my shorts over my hips and hopped out of the car as it started raining. I dressed so fast I even forgot to put on my necklace. We shot this look so quick as the rain started to fall.haha
Lilly Pulitzer Etta top in Reel Nauti // black cutoff jean shorts–$15! // Kendra Scott earrings // neon slides–$8 // Tory Burch quilted shoulder bag–some colors on sale for $210 with code EXTRA30
When many people think about styling Lilly Pulitzer pieces, I think that people automatically think, “I can’t wear Lilly with black.” This is FALSE. I think pairing Lilly with black bottoms looks bold for summer. It really allows the bright colors and pattern to shine. I’m wearing the Lilly Pulitzer Etta top in Reel Nauti, which is one of my favorite styles of Lilly tops.
Do you remember these white jean shorts and these blue jean shorts I styled recently? Well, these black cutoff jean shorts are the same ones! For $15, you can’t go wrong. They pair well with many tops.
And y’all, these neon slides are FINALLY back in stock! They are so comfortable. If neon isn’t your cup of tea, they also come in white. I really questioned if I wanted them, but after wearing them, I 100% endorse getting a pair.
Rain or shine, I hope your week is off to a good start!
