Business Casual: Plaid Blazer with Faux Leather Leggings

This may be the most basic fall post you’ll ever see on this blog. . .then again, maybe not. Just wait til later this week.haha Kentucky has really been showing off her color’s this week, and it’s been absolutely stunning around town. In case you missed it, there is a seismic shift in the working world as predefined notions of what’s acceptable to wear to work are probably forever changed after this year. YYYAASSSS!!! Today I’m sharing a more fashion-forward business casual look featuring a plaid blazer and faux leather leggings.

plaid blazer–on sale for $27.99 // white t-shirt (my fav!) // faux leather leggings–under $50! // Kendra Scott Vivian earrings in green apatite c/o (smaller version) // Kendra Scott Jack cuff bracelet c/o (comes in 4 options) // Kendra Scott Davis necklace c/o // CZ pendant // Kendra Scott crushed abalone necklace // black quilted crossbody // faux fur mules

This plaid blazer is it for fall! In addition to fitting well, it has the most beautiful plaid pattern for fall. Take note of the cuffed sleeves. I never wear a blazer without cuffing the sleeves one turn. I chose a white tee to wear underneath because I was pairing it with black bottoms and wanted the contrast. Don’t be afraid to pair it with a black or tan top though!

Do you ever think about the textures in your outfit? I love the contrast here between the blazer and the faux leather leggings. Before you come at me, I know that faux leather leggings are a more controversial choice for a business casual outfit, but hear me out. First, it’s 2020. Second, this outfit actually looks very chic and pulled together. Third, it’s 2020.haha JUST GO WITH IT! If you work in a more conservative office setting, swap out the leather leggings for black ankle pants and you’ll be good to go. But anyways, these are the $40 Assets by Spanx leggings from TARGET (yes, Target) and they’re such steal!

I’m starting to not like pairing boots with leggings (unless they’re more casual boots). Instead, swap your boots for some faux fur mules for this look. I added my favorite black quilted crossbody to tie it all together. If you’re a fan of Tory Burch and Chanel, this is a super affordable alternative and roomy too!

To complete the look, I piled on a bunch of jewelry. It balances out the t-shirt and polishes your look. I adore Kendra Scott’s new pieces for fall. The green apatite is an awesome stone–it reminds me of a 90s counter top and I’m here for it!

So, are you a fan of faux leather leggings for business casual looks?
