Hello, Spring! Y’all, we had snow flurries last week on April 1, followed by 70 degree temps four days later. . . welcome to Kentucky.haha To me, spring is all about colors and how they play together. All the flowers and trees are blooming gorgeous colors, and it’s a whole vibe for my personal style as well. This pastel purple romantic square neck dress is the perfect example.

I’ve avoided square necklines since the late 90’s, but like every other once-hot 90’s trend I said I’d never wear again, here we are. When combined with the puff sleeves, the square neckline on this dress gives the whole look a romantic feel reminiscent of Claire Daines’ Juliet. The swiss dot details makes this whole look very sweet. I also like that the fabric is super thin–I actually wore a slip-type thing underneath since it was a little chilly on Easter morning. The best part, however, is that this dress is super affordable if you’re looking for some cheap spring dresses to add to your closet.
I’m really big on colorblocking and mixing all the colors together. Here, I drew color inspiration from my Kendra Scott optimist woven bracelet. Orange/coral isn’t a color I’d typically pair with lavender, but it pops so well together! It allowed me to add this orange crossbody with scrunch handle, which was a recent (and cheap) impulse buy. Scrunched detailing is very on trend right now–it’s also showing up on shoes and headbands.
To finish off the look, I added cream slide sandals with heels. These heels are simple yet elegant, and easy to walk in. They give the perfect lift to a dress, but can work just as well with jeans. When I have a vibrant outfit, I always like to keep my heels neutral to allow the outfit to shine.
